Solar PV installation begins at high-end Jersey residence

We're delighted to have been awarded the electrical contract for this exceptional new property, being built by MND Construction. It's the kind of project that gets us excited – a high-spec build where the electrical design has to match the ambition of everything around it, and where getting the details right really matters.

Before a single cable was run, we put in the groundwork. Working closely with the team at MND Construction, we designed the full electrical installation from scratch, going through several rounds of meetings to review and refine the drawings before reaching final sign-off. It's a process that takes time, but it's the right way to do it – changes on paper are straightforward, changes on site are costly.

First on site – Solar PV

The first phase of work onsite is the solar PV installation, and it's a well-specified system. We're installing 16 x 440W Jinko all-black panels, paired with Enphase micro inverters for maximum efficiency and monitoring flexibility. The all-black aesthetic keeps things clean and considered – exactly what you'd expect on a property of this calibre.

Enphase micro inverters work at panel level rather than relying on a single central inverter, which means better performance across the whole array, greater resilience, and detailed insight into exactly how each panel is performing at any given time.

Alongside the solar array, we'll be installing a 5kW three-phase battery – giving the property the ability to store surplus energy generated during the day and use it when it's needed most, reducing reliance on the grid and maximising the return on the solar investment.
