Full electrical installation – Morville Farm potato grading facility

Here's a look at a recent project for Morville Farm, where we completed a full electrical installation for a new potato grading facility. We worked closely with Dougie Richardson throughout to design a system built around exactly how his team works.

The Richardson family have farmed at Morville since 1960, growing Jersey Royals on the same land for well over 60 years. It's the kind of long-standing operation where reliability really matters, so the new electrical system needed to fit seamlessly into a business built on decades of experience.

The facility grades and processes Jersey Royal new potatoes, so the whole setup needed to be efficient, reliable, and simple to run day to day. We designed and installed the complete electrical system from scratch, including a bespoke control panel built specifically for the grading line, along with Hager distribution boards to keep the whole system organised and easy to maintain.

Alongside the control panel, we wired the grading equipment and all its associated systems, and installed intelligent controls to help the workflow run as smoothly as possible. We also fitted internal and external lighting across the facility, so the team has a well-lit, safe space to work in whatever the time of day.

Agricultural sites bring their own demands, and this one was no exception. Farm equipment needs to keep running through peak harvest without fuss, so we positioned everything for an efficient workflow and kept the controls straightforward for the team to operate, even under pressure during the busiest periods.

The result is a fully integrated grading system that's improved efficiency and reliability across the operation, and given Morville Farm a safer, better-lit place to work. It all supports the sorting and production of Jersey Royals that get shipped out around the world.
