Solar PV & battery storage

Solar photovoltaic (PV) panels convert sunlight into electricity, giving you a clean, renewable source of power generated on your own roof. With Jersey enjoying some of the highest sunshine hours in the British Isles, solar is a practical and well-proven investment for both homes and businesses.

Leonard's Electrics installs solar PV systems across Jersey for domestic and commercial customers. We handle the full electrical installation – from mounting and cabling the panels through to connecting the inverter and integrating the system with your property's electrical supply.

How it works

Solar panels generate direct current (DC) electricity when exposed to daylight. An inverter converts this into the alternating current (AC) your home or business runs on. Any electricity you generate but don't use immediately can be fed back to the grid, stored in a battery, or used to heat water via an immersion diverter.

For homeowners

A solar PV system reduces the amount of electricity you need to buy from the grid, which means lower bills from day one. Pair it with a battery storage system and you can store surplus generation during the day to use in the evening, getting even more value from the panels.

For businesses

Commercial solar PV can make a significant dent in operational energy costs, particularly for businesses that consume a lot of electricity during daylight hours. Larger roof areas mean larger systems and greater savings potential. We can advise on system sizing based on your energy use and roof space.

Battery storage

Battery storage systems can be added at the time of installation or retrofitted later. They allow you to store excess solar generation rather than exporting it to the grid, maximising self-consumption and improving the overall return on your investment.
